Virtual-Agent Services Achieves Milestone by Establishing 10th Center

SCHAUMBURG, IL (July 14, 2004) – Virtual-Agent Services (VAS), a leading provider of high quality contact center solutions, has established the company’s tenth location since its inception in June 1999. Executive Vice President of Client Services, Nancy Lewis, made the announcement today regarding the newest VAS center, located in Norton, New Brunswick, Canada.

Award-winning VAS has proved to be a leader in the contact center industry providing high quality services to high profile clients. Utilizing its Distributed Workforce Concept model, VAS has connected a series of fully functional transaction centers (PODs) located throughout New Brunswick, Canada, using a one common telephone system. This allows VAS to reach an abundant supply of high quality labor while still maintaining the economies of scale associated with having one large center. With this unique business model, VAS is able to bring the work to skilled local people rather than requiring people to travel long distances to obtain work.  This creates a wonderful opportunity for those in the area with limited career prospects as well as assuring VAS’ clients that they are receiving superior service from experienced employees. With a population of approximately 1,400 residents, the new center in Norton is expected to create between 30 to 60 jobs for local area residents within its first year of operation. The company employs in excess of 600 full-time staff members in New Brunswick today.

“Our corporate model and strength revolves around our people,” said Lewis. “We attribute our successes largely to the highly skilled workforce that we have available in New Brunswick with their natural ability to provide professional service in a caring manner. Our clients, both US and Canadian companies, recognize this ability and continue to provide us with additional, more advanced work, consequently testifying to the superior service their customers receive.”

VAS’ efforts with the Distributed Workforce Concept have earned the company numerous accolades, including recognition from both Entrepreneur and Fast Company magazines and a number of prestigious awards.

Commenting on the company’s milestone, New Brunswick Premier Bernard Lord said, “I wish to congratulate VAS on this significant accomplishment and thank them for the confidence they have expressed in our province. VAS continues to partner with the Government of New Brunswick to create new opportunities not just in urban areas, but in rural and smaller communities like Norton. We are getting jobs to people where they live. These positions will help diversify and strengthen the regional economy and they will provide new opportunities for people who wish to stay and be part of these vibrant communities.”
